Tasmanian Leatherwood has developed a reputation with its strong, unmistakable flavour. Our Leatherwood is sourced from a limited number of hive sites positioned in the South West of Tasmania. The Leatherwood tree itself prefers to be shrouded by a canopy in damper soil, in which it can grow quite quickly. Buy online now!
Sourced from the isolated Bruny Island (access by ferry!), our Manuka honey is highly prized amongst connoisseurs, both winged and non-winged, irrespective of the recent buzz around the research into its medicinal qualities. Buy online now!
Try this fabulous flavour combination – Huon Valley honey and walnuts. We have a number of gourmet treats to explore… honey mustard, honey mead… come in and see (and taste!) for yourself!
Beeswax is a very useful substance, and really should be treasured; a teaspoon of honey represents around 150 nectar collection trips, and bees consume about eight parts honey to make one part of wax. It’s been estimated that this means one pound of wax equates to six trips around the globe!
We stock a range of candle shapes, sizes, and colours.
Honey and beeswax have long been used for cosmetic and healing purposes. We stock a number of Tasmanian personal care products featuring the work of bees. Pay us a visit to see the full range of soaps, creams, and other goodies with which you can pamper yourself.
We aim to have something of interest for all comers, and our range includes far more than we’ve listed here. Also, make sure you check out our observation hive – a glass-walled, working hive with the bees coming in and out from the external wall of the building. See if you can find the queen bee, and watch the bees dance as they let their fellow workers know what sources of food they’ve found.
